New England Chapter, ISGB meeting
Sunday, June 25, 2017
1:00 to 4:00 PM
Something Phishy Glass Studio
38 Harlow Street (Sprinkler Factory), Worcester, MA

The New England Chapter of the ISGB is pleased to announce their summer meeting with a demo by well known bead artist,  Jennifer Geldard!  There will be time to socialize, share tips and tricks and to discuss any upcoming events that might be of interest to the group, followed by the demo.   Jen will be using soft glass, first making blown shards and paperweight style components and will incorporate them into a floral bead. Immediately following the demo, there will be an hour of open torch time (minor burners) for members of the Chapter.

We welcome guests at our meetings and demos.  There is a guest fee of $8.00, which can be applied toward membership.

I have been creating Lampwork beads, jewelry and sculpture since 1994. Primarily self-taught, I learned the basics of bead forming and technique through books and watching over the shoulders of friends. My focus is surface work. I am interested in creating textures and patterns that tend toward a very unglass-like result. I often use chemical etching to further break down the slick surface.  I live in New England with my husband John, and son Max.
